Principal’s Corner October 2019
Our first month back to school was filled with great events. During some very warm days, the students truly enjoyed the newly installed portable air condition units in each classroom and the new water fountains in the school halls. Thanks to Father Redmond and your generous support for allowing us to upgrade our school with this much needed equipment. It is greatly appreciated! We celebrated the induction of our Student Council Officers for the 2019/2020 school year. We are proud to congratulate the following students: Co-Presidents: Elizabeth Passow & Zoe Virant Secretary: Joey Rath Treasurer: Brendan Ptasznik Commissioners of Safety & Ecology: Abby Kolcum & Emma Clayton Commissioners of School Spirit & Religious Activities: Maggie Pawar & Kayla Schneider Our newly elected student council members will enjoy a special luncheon at Cleats in Chardon with Mrs. Fedak and Mrs.Wintersteller. Last week, we invited grandparents and special friends to our school. This special day began with a prayer service led by Deacon Larry in the church and was followed by various student performances. Grandparents and special friends were then invited to tour our school. They were truly impressed by our Makerspace and all the wonderful artwork in the halls. Thanks to our teachers and students who prepared this wonderful event! Everyone had a great time! Our seventh and eighth grade girls, under the supervision of their homeroom teachers, continued with a Little Flowers Girls Club for girls in grades K-2. Little Flowers is a series of nine lessons that teaches about female Catholic Saints and a corresponding Virtue. Seventh and eighth grade girls are taking turns in preparing a brief lesson and helping the participants in making a scrapbook page about each discussed Saint/Virtue. Our annual Magazine and Candy Drive will end on October 8th. Please consider ordering a magazine and/or purchasing chocolate from our students if you have not done so yet. The money raised will help our school to pay for the cost of support staff and various items we are in need of. Thanks for all that you do to support our school! Peace and Joy, Friederike Wintersteller - Principal
