We are off and running into new school year! We welcomed our students back last Monday! As they came to classes, Our Development Director, Maureen Intihar, hosted a Boo-Hoo/ Ya-Hoo coffee session for our parents. We gave our Kindergarten parents packets of Kleenex Tissue with a cute poem about letting go and we rejoiced with those who loved the idea of school beginning once again! A great start to a new school year!
Allow me to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our parishioners and school families that came out to support our Drive for the Kids fundraiser. I am happy to report that we exceeded our goal of test drives and were awarded an additional monetary bonus from Chrysler Corporation. Thank you to Junction Auto for their local support and to Mr. Shaun Woolard for being such a good host! The school earned about $2,360. We will use it to further our technology program. Thank you everyone for your help! We could not have done it without you!
This past week was busy for both students and teachers. During the school day we worked on getting organized and prepared for the school year learning routines and expectations. Two evening we hosted a Curriculum Night for our parents to help them understand our protocols as well. We also introduced them to our new partnership with our technology company, Epiphany. They will be helping us launch our One-on One Junior High laptop program, taking care of our IT needs, and providing us with educational pieces for our teachers and staff. We also introduced our new student management system, ASCEND. It is going to be an exciting year!
On Friday morning, Father Kawalec celebrated our opening Mass for us. We asked God’s blessing on a new year. We thanked him for keeping us safe over the summer and for bringing us back together for another school year. Our Student Council officers hosted the Mass for us. Each week another grade level or school organization hosts our all school Mass. Please join us on Fridays at 9:20 am. We would love to have you pray and sing with us!
