Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers and grandmothers, as well as all the special women in our life that are motherly role models for us. May blessings shower your day! Thank you for all you do and the difference you make in the lives of so many!
We hope our moms of preschoolers in Little Scholars Academy enjoyed their Mother’s Day Tea last week!
Last week we welcomed our incoming Kindergartners. Each child coming to our school was administered the MAP screening assessment. During the time that the children were in the computer lab, new incoming parents participated in a “Principal Chat” with me. We are excited to welcome a full class of new students. Our Kindergarten enrollment is now closed as we are to capacity. We have begun a waiting list for anyone still interested in enrolling.
This Monday, May 14th, our Beginning and Advanced Band members will perform their spring concert under the direction of Mr. Littman. Performance times are at 2 and 7 pm in the Banquet Room. All are cordially invited to attend.
This week begins the Operation Keepsake program for our sixth and seventh graders. This program is part of our health curriculum.
Our annual “Poetry Recital” will take place on May 17th. Our third graders have been busy writing and practicing reading poetry. They are ready to share it with family and friends at this recital. It proves to be an enjoyable afternoon!
After our all school Mass this Friday, St. Mary School will host our annual “Pass It On” ceremony. The Class of 2018 will pass on the candle of knowledge and leadership to the present seventh graders. It is a beautiful ceremony and a long standing tradition of St. Mary School. Please join us for both the Mass and ceremony. A small reception follows for the students and parents.
This past week our teachers attended an in-service updating them on the latest innovations to Digital Academy. We will all be so much smarter when using the program next school year!
Our students have completed their spring MAP Testing this past week. Our hope is that each student met personal academic goals and showed educational growth. This has been our first year using this test format. It has proven to be a valuable tool for planning, teaching, and identifying strengths and weaknesses.
