Yet another snow day! As much as we enjoy the “bonus” day at home, once we come back it is difficult to play the “catch-up” game! Hopefully that was the last snow day for this season!
We are excitedly preparing for the X-treme Game Competition hosted by the Cleveland Catholic Diocese on April 14th. The event will take place at Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio. St. Mary School is sending a few teams in various categories and across grade levels. This competition is patterned after the well-known Science Olympiad Competition that we have participated in over the past few years. We wish our teams luck and success!
Our eighth graders have presented their speeches for the annual Woodsman Speech Competition. This first competition was in-house. On April 11th St. Mary School will host St. Francis School, Gates Mills, St. Anselm, and St. Helen for the final part of the speech competition. Thank you to Mrs. Edie Joyce, our eighth grade and junior high Language Arts Teacher, for organizing this event.
On March 15th students participating in the National Invention Convention had their inventions judged. We will report winner at a later date. Thank you to Mrs. Sarah Allin for coordinating this event for our school. Mrs. Allin is our junior high Science Teacher and Seventh Grade Level Teacher.
Our second graders will lead us in their rendition of the Stations of the Cross on March 22nd at 2:30 pm. Please join us for this reflection on Jesus’ passion!
Our seventh and eighth graders traveled to Hiram College on March 16th to participate in the Biosphere Learning presentation. Hiram College is a STEM partner of St. Mary Chardon. We always enjoy our collaboration with their professors and students and are very grateful for the experience.
