I would like to share with you a heartwarming little anecdote that warmed my heart as well as everyone’s who heard it! Early one morning a young mom was stopping in the school to take care of some business. With her was her young daughter, not quite old enough to attend school yet. The little girls said, “I am so happy to be back here at Mama Mary’s Home!” The mother explained that her daughter thinks of our campus – church, school, and gym as Mama Mary’s Home! From the mouths of babes! What a beautiful affirmation for our parish community!
I would like to thank everyone who helped support our school by either purchasing a magazine or a delicious chocolate bar! The last day of the sale will be October 3rd. We are truly blessed to have so many supporters!
On Monday, October 2nd our Junior High students are sponsoring “Go for the Gold.” Students who bring in $1 may dress down on this day. All monies collected will be donated for childhood cancer research.
It is difficult to believe, but our 8th grade students are already beginning to “shadow” high schools this week to help them make an informed decision regarding the next leg of their educational journeys. This is an important step. Please keep them in your prayers.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate one of our very own teachers at St. Mary School. Mrs. Julie Fedak, our Junior High Math Teacher and sixth grade homeroom teacher, has been invited to do a presentation at the NEOTI Conference. Mrs. Fedak will be presenting her use of “Problem of the Week” integration with Google Classroom. Recently, Mrs. Fedak was also asked to be a member of the Curriculum Board at CVEEC (Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center), where our sixth graders attend environmental camp each year. Congratulations, Mrs. Fedak! Thank for all that you do to represent St. Mary School Chardon on a national level.
This past Friday marked the middle of the first quarter. How quickly the days have sped by! Interim Reports were posted on Friday afternoon. This report gives both parents and students a good snapshot of what was accomplished and where the student needs to improve before the end of the first quarter.
Have a blessed week!
