Our students at St. Mary School have really taken ownership of trying to help others as the Beatitudes mandate. Our sixth graders visit the elderly and help with many jobs at the Geauga Department of Aging. Our Beacon of Light Ministry helped out at the Michael Wittman Ozamam Center, raked leaves for the elderly, and helped serve the Community Supper here at St. Mary Parish along with the fifth grade class.
As a school we will be collecting food for our St. Vincent de Paul Society all of this month. At the end of the month we will begin collecting toys for Appalachia. This has become a tradition here at our school/parish as an Advent outreach project. This year Mrs. Passow, Mrs. Intihar, and Mrs.Fedak will be chairing the project.
Our students have also studied individual saints. Our older students created beautiful saint book which they shared with their younger prayer partners on the feast day.
On November 14th, World Kindness Day, we will kick-off a kindness campaign at our school. We will share more with you as the month progresses.
On November 19th our student body will pray in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament during the morning hours. At 9:30 am they will participate in an Exalt Service led by our music teacher, Miss Romano. Please join us for this very prayerful and powerful service.
Our students are truly trying to emulate the saint in their daily lives! They are living the Beatitudes, attending Mass, and praying for personal and world intentions. As the leader of this school, I am very proud of their work and dedication to their faith! They are truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
