Thanks to all our students, parents, teachers, and staff for a great start into the new school year. We are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.
Kudos to everyone dealing with the hot temperatures last week. Frequent water breaks, moving classes to our air conditioned areas, recess in the gym, and a popsicle for all students helped us to make it through these days.
Last Friday, we celebrated our opening school mass and asked God to guide our students with open hearts and minds and eager to learn as they began a new school year.
On Tuesday, September 11th, our school community gathered around our flagpole. We held a prayer service led by Father Redmond in memory of the events of 9/11/2001.
Last week, we also began our Fall MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing. This test is mandated by the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Students take this online test three times a year (fall, winter, spring) and are tested in the areas of reading and math. The MAP test creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level. The results are individualized and include benchmarks, as well as reveal academic skills and concepts your child has acquired and what he/she is ready to learn. Please keep in mind that the MAP testing is only one tool of assessment. Teachers are working with your child daily and know your child’s areas of strength and needs for improvement. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We are always here to support you!
Another exciting event to celebrate is the induction of our Student Council Officers for the 2018/2019 school year.
We are proud to congratulate the following students:
Co-Presidents: Jake Schneider & Christian Pawar
Co-Secretary: Liam Ptasznik & Elizabeth Passow
Treasurer: Nathan Bender
Commissioners of Safety & Ecology: Jamie Graham and Sophia Morano
Commissioners of School Spirit & Religious Activities: Ava Morano and Grace Rowan
We are very much looking forward to hearing their ideas and working with them.
Looking ahead, our Magazine Drive will kick off on September 24th. Please support our school by purchasing chocolate from our students. On September 27th, we will invite grandparents and special friends to our school with a number of activities. More information will be shared soon.
Lastly, we are asking our parents to be cautious and patient during drop off and pick up. Student safety is our first priority. Thanks for all your help and support!
Peace and Joy,
