We had a busy first month back to school filled with great events.
Seventh and eighth graders went on an all-day field trip to Niagara Falls and truly enjoyed a tour on the Maid of the Mist. Teachers and chaperones commended their excellent behavior!
Our seventh and eighth grade girls, supervised by their homeroom teachers, started a Little Flowers Girls Club for girls in grades K-2. Little Flowers is a series of nine lessons that teaches about female Catholic Saints and a corresponding virtue. Seventh and eighth grade girls are taking turns in preparing a brief lesson and helping the participants in making a scrapbook page about each discussed Saint/virtue.
The Magazine and Candy Drive kicked off on September 24th and will close on October 9th. Please consider ordering a magazine and/or purchasing chocolate from our students. The money raised will help our school to purchase various items we are in need of.
Last week, we invited grandparents and special friends to our school. This special day began with a prayer service led by Deacon Larry in the church and was followed by various student performances. Grandparents and special friends were then sent on a scavenger hunt to explore our school. Everyone had a great time! A special Thank You to Mrs. Passow for taking the lead on planning this wonderful event.
Our newly elected student council members enjoyed a special luncheon at Cleats in Chardon with Mrs. Fedak and Mrs.Wintersteller. Besides a delicious lunch, the students shared many ideas for this school year.
Our first St. Mary’s Color Walk was a great event. On Sunday, students and parents joined us in raising money for a new playground by participating in the Color Walk. There were three different courses, ranging from 260 feet up to 1 Mile. Each course had color stations where various colors were tossed at the participants. This was a lot of fun! Thanks to our PTU members who organized this event and to all participants who raised money for the school. We truly appreciate it and could not do this without your help.
Peace and Joy,
